(Kuki), Kurt Weber, whose roots go back to southern France and Prussia on his mother's side and Austria on his father's side, was born in Munich in 1957. Weber's father was a typical Bohemian who made his way through the Second World War as an interpreter and army hairdresser. After the war he sold American cars to US soldiers stationed in Germany, was a theater director, jeweler, pianist, painter, filmmaker and still photographer for German feature film productions. He divorced four years after his marriage and lived with his son. Through his father, Weber came into contact with film and photography at an early age. At the age of 6 he already stood by his father in the laboratory and learned how to post-process celluloid at a very early age. Weber attended the arts high school in Freising near Munich, but, driven by the chaotic, excessive living conditions of his father, dropped out of school and started an apprenticeship as a graphic designer.

During his education Weber dealt more and more with painting, photography and film and then joined the film production company that his father had founded in the meantime in the film business. The cooperation between son and father turned out to be difficult. While his father devoted his life more and more to alcohol, parties and hopeless women’s stories, both paths parted and Weber, who then went on a world tour at the age of 24 for 1 year, brought many thousands of photos, then as a director and cameraman for industry and advertising worked, founded his first own film production company, Aktuell Film, in 1986. After a lot of back and forth, he married his great love Lucia in 1987 and in the following years became the father of his son Louis and his daughter Marisa. He actively began to devote himself to sailing and developed a great passion for it, which he continues to this day. He made travel films and industrial productions around the world.

In 1995 he received the silver compass from ITB Berlin for his film “Madagascar”.Weber professionalized his company over the years and founded Aktuell Film Media in 1999, which today works for large industrial groups as well as for the Free State of Bavaria. In addition to all his commitment to his company, Weber kept thinking about photography and painting. To date Weber has painted around 450 oil and acrylic paintings, most of which he throws away or paints over again. He lives on the Ammersee in Bavaria and continues to work successfully with his company. In his winter free time he paints in his old wooden hut and, in addition to his cooking orgies, is intensively involved with philosophy and spirituality, which also have a great influence on his artistic work. In his summer leisure time Weber sails sport catamarans on the Ammersee and on his old, Swedish 35 foot racing yacht called “Taygeta” through the South Aegean Sea.
